Bootlegger magazine was created in Montreal, Quebec, in 2021. It presents emerging artists through print and digital media. Its curation is led by a playful, eclectic and underground perspective that remains dynamic by covering a wide range of visual artworks. It includes many different media, from painting and nail art to knitting and tattooing. The magazine was born out of the COVID-19 pandemic and a need to represent emerging local artists.
Bootlegger aims to empower young people through a community project. By archiving today’s artistic scene, it immortalizes the work of promising talents from the team’s entourage, as well as that of many other young Montrealers.
