Summer camp – Week 3 – Mike Kelley
This week, children will explore the seemingly naïve yet powerful universe of Mike Kelley, known for his installations made of stuffed animals and toys. A multidisciplinary artist, he worked across many mediums, from sculpture and drawing to large-scale installation.
Inspired by his unique approach, children will create their own stuffed-animal sculptures and collective installations, experimenting with play, reuse, and large-scale creativity.
Kelley’s work also opens the door to important ideas such as consumption, reuse, and abandonment, while allowing plenty of room for imagination. Between tiny details and monumental constructions, children will be encouraged to fully embrace the joy of creating.
This week blends artistic creation, sensitivity, and thoughtful exploration, offering a playful, stimulating, and inspiring learning experience.
