Summer camp – Week 2 – Kapwani Kiwanga

During this week, children will explore the soft, luminous, and poetic universe of Kapwani Kiwanga. A Canadian artist of Tanzanian heritage and Canada’s representative at the 2024 Venice Biennale, she investigates the connections between color, history, and nature through immersive installations and textile-based works.

Inspired by her approach, children will experiment with textile art, composition, and playful color exploration. The week will also be an opportunity to introduce the Venice Biennale, the largest contemporary art event in the world.

In the spirit of Kiwanga, children will create their own compositions combining textiles, paint, shapes, and colors, discovering a gentle, sensory, and imaginative artistic practice.
