Winter Camp: Satire in Art — Zanele Muholi
Satire in art at Livart!
To end the year, Livart is back with its winter camps, inspired by the fun theme of satire in art!
This time, there’s a new day-long format, ideal for families who want to choose their own pace.
Each day, children will follow in the footsteps of an artist through:
– A creative workshop (4 hours of art in the morning and afternoon)
– Games and activities in our large hall
– Cultural mediation around the artist of the day
They will leave each day with their original work, proud of their discoveries and creations!
With our « à la carte » formula, you can choose one or more days, each offering a unique artistic approach: photography, painting, sculpture, collage…
It’s a perfect opportunity to explore famous artists such as Botero, or rediscover forgotten figures such as Elsa von Freytag-Loringhoven, while having fun and learning.
Friday, 2 January — Zanele Muholi: Between Diversion and Contrast
On this day, children will discover the socially engaged world of Zanele Muholi, a South African LGBT+ photographer known for sublimating everyday objects in her photos and highlighting marginalised communities.
During the workshop, children will explore black-and-white drawing and collage, playing with contrasts to create powerful and expressive works.
The workshop will be accompanied by cultural mediation to introduce Zanele Muholi’s world and show how satire can be a means of subverting worthless objects by transforming them into crowns to sublimate marginalised and persecuted communities.
Children will leave with an original creation that reflects their sensitivity and their view of the world!
