GUIDED TOUR – « Que restera-t-il ? »

Presented by FAVE 2025
Jan 25, 2025 ― Jan 25, 2025

This guided tour invites you to explore the exhibition Que restera-t-il ? in the presence of curators Dounia Bouzidi and Joseph Rozenkopf.

Que restera-t-il ? is an exhibition that questions the temporality of creation, the appropriation of materials and the traces left by artists. The aim of the exhibition is to create a dialogue between the concerns that permeate the collective mind and the proposal of new imaginary worlds.

Traces, imprints, marks and memories are the ideas at the heart of the project. Through the use of materials and the artists’ choice of mediums, the exhibition celebrates the artists’ return to salvaged materials, DIY techniques, low-tech and handicrafts. The ideas of residue and leftovers act as a poetic manifestation of political considerations. The exhibition asks: what are we leaving on earth? Remnants reflect traces of the past, memories and memories that remain, serving as testimony for generations to come.

Both cultural workers and friends, Que restera-t-il ? is their first joint exhibition project and the fruit of shared reflections and interests in Montreal artists.

Dounia Bouzidi holds a Master’s degree in Design and Management of Cultural Projects from the Université Paris Sorbonne Nouvelle and a Master’s degree in Museology from the Université de Montréal. She is an independent curator and collaborates on cultural mediation projects. Her research focuses on memories, feminist and decolonial theories. Finally, she explores the world of digital arts alongside the artist community Crocodealdunil, as treasurer on the board of Ada-X and as sales and festivals manager at Vidéographe.

Joseph Rozenkopf holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the Université de Montréal and a certificate in museology and art dissemination from UQAM. At the crossroads of these two disciplines was born an interest in the workings of cultural institutions in Quebec, and questions about their practices. He is currently assistant curator and administrator at Vidéographe.
