This series of paintings coincides with the arrival of spring and the end of a forced break. The seasons follow one another cyclically, unlike creation which is often punctuated by stops. There may be a pause as a search for meaning and relevance, but this was imposed by health. This series therefore underlines the resumption of daily life after illness, just as flowering announces sunshine and renewal. With the flower, the color and the airbrush, blurry and without direction like his state, the artist was able to concretize in the material universe an ephemeral period in order to mark the end of it.
