  • Sarah Boutin

Sarah Boutin is an emerging artist who lives and works in Montreal. She completed a Bachelor’s degree in Visual and Media Arts at the Université du Québec à Montréal. She is interested in the role of the body in experiences of transmission, trauma, reconciliation, and memory. Her practice primarily unfolds through installations, video performance, and writing. The textual dimension of her work is, for her, a way to question sources (etymologies) and what enables transitions (the acts of writing and storytelling). She also works with Myriam Simard-Parent to explore how duo performance work allows for the exploration of notions of support or abandonment inherent in all relationships. Her visual work has notably been presented at Place des Arts in Montreal.
