Gabor Bata is a Montreal-based artist. He graduated from Illustration & Design at Dawson College in 2015 and studied a year in Concordia’s Film Animation program. He then transitioned fully into Studio Arts, graduating with a BFA in 2019. Along with his interest in film, all of these experiences continue to impact his work, drawing from animation, comics and design to inform his creative approach. He has exhibited his works throughout North America, including Montreal, Toronto and Oakland, and has had his comics and illustration work published by Klubzin. He was also recently awarded the Dale and Nick Tedeschi Studio Arts Fellowship, and was a participant in the 2022 edition of the ARTCH festival. Gabor is currently in the process of finishing his thesis year in his Painting & Drawing MFA at Concordia.
