  Fiona Nguyen

  Holder of a bachelor’s degree in Painting and Drawing from Concordia University, Fiona Nguyen bases her artistic practice and research in Montreal. She has participated in several group exhibitions, including “Food Nature” (2020) curated by fashion designer Rad Hourani, “A Ghoul’s Appetite” (2021) at the Centrale Powerhouse for Art Matters Festival, “Metamorphosis” (2021) at the gallery Atelier 2112, “We shall sometime come to someplace” (2020) at the VAV gallery, and “Réappropriation de l’Espace” (2019) at the ephemeral gallery UMLAUT. Today, the artist continues her research on the systems of cultural censorship and self-censorship held by widely known totalitarian regimes studied in the History of post-war migration, hence the important place of popular music in political resistance movements.
