Winter Camp: Satire in Art — Isa Genzken

Satire in art at Livart!

As the year draws to a close, Livart is back with its winter camps, this time with the inspiring and entertaining theme of satire in art!
This time, there’s a new day-long format, ideal for families who want to choose their own pace.

Each day, children will follow in the footsteps of an artist through:
– A creative workshop (4 hours of art in the morning and afternoon)
– Games and activities in our large hall
– Cultural mediation around the artist of the day

They will leave each day with their original work, proud of their discoveries and creations!

With our à la carte option, you can choose one or more days, each offering a unique artistic approach: photography, painting, sculpture, collage…
It’s a perfect opportunity to explore famous artists like Botero, or rediscover forgotten figures like Elsa von Freytag-Loringhoven, while having fun and learning.

Tuesday, December 23 — Isa Genzken: Between satire and punk

On this second day, children will explore the colorful, raw, and instinctive world of Isa Genzken, a German artist known for her surprising installations and sculptures made from everyday objects.

Through sculpture and the repurposing of objects, they will learn to transform simple materials into original and free works of art, combining humor and creativity. For this day, children can bring their own unused toys to transform them into true contemporary works of art! If you don’t have any toys on hand, we will provide each child with some for the activity.

A cultural mediation session will complement the workshop to help participants understand how Isa Genzken uses satire and punk as an artistic language.

Children will leave with their creations, a testament to their imagination and artistic daring!
