During this week, children discover the artistic universe of Venezuelan-American artist Maria sol Escobar, known as Marisol. The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts dedicates a retrospective to her. Children explore different sculptural techniques in the manner of the artist, one of his favorite mediums. Marisol’s singular style invites children to create in a variety of media, including drawing, painting and printmaking. Cultural activities are organized to discover the place of this female artist within the pop art movement. We conclude the week by celebrating the children’s exceptional creations at a vernissage.
