Presented by Idartes, Institut des Arts du District, Conseil des arts de Montréal
Sep 1, 2026 ― Oct 31, 2026

Ioana Tater is a multidisciplinary artist working primarily with fibers, biocomposites, and natural dyes. She holds a BFA from Concordia University and a technical diploma in Wildlife Management from Cégep Saint-Laurent. Her research-based practice focuses mainly on land stewardship and spiritual connections to the Earth, with a rigorous effort to establish coherence between her themes and her material process. Her early career was marked by explorations of ecological heritage in Romania, her country of origin. She exhibited in Marin and Mandra, Romania, in 2025.

This residency in Colombia will allow her to continue her experimentation, drawing inspiration from the land and cultural context of Bogotá, as part of a project combining weaving and sculpture.
