Position: Day camp counselor for the 2025 summer art camp

Schedule: Monday to Friday (between 8am and 5:30pm)

Monday June 23 to Friday August 22, 2025

Availability for training the week of June 16

CONDITIONS:

Job type: Full-time fixed-term contract, Seasonal

Number of hours : +/- 40h per week

Schedule: June 23 to August 22, plus 16 hours’ training beforehand.

Job description

Your primary objective as a Livart animator is to have fun with the children while accompanying them in their discovery of the visual arts. What could be better than painting and drawing all day with energetic little ones? But it’s much more than that. It is to share knowledge in order to transmit even to the youngest the benefits of art in their lives.

During the fun and interactive camp weeks, children discover the visual and cultural universe of renowned artists. Your role is to supervise the participants during the artistic workshops and cultural mediations. It is about stimulating the children during dynamic and formative teachings and being able to give physical activities, including interactive games.

The family section organizes annual day camp weeks for children aged 4 to 12, to share knowledge and pass on our values to children. The camp helps to reflect the cultural buzz of the art center space, where all kinds of activities and exhibitions are happening simultaneously with the camp.

 

Roles and responsibilities

Your role and responsibilities in a few points:

– Teach art workshops in a dynamic and structured way that is both informative and fun;

– Supervise children during workshops and cultural mediations in order to awaken and support their creativity;

– Facilitate physical games;

– To ensure the constant safety and well-being of all participants;

– Provide clear and professional guidance and information to parents;

– Ensure compliance with Livart values with the rest of the staff.

Profile required

Do you have a passion for the arts or an interest in the artistic field? The Livart day camp is the perfect place to put your skills to good use. We’re looking for someone who enjoys creating with children and is able to manage a group as a positive leader. Someone who thrives on teamwork. If you’re good with children aged 4 to 12 and want to pass on your knowledge, the animation position is for you. Requirement:

  • Studies in visual art, art history, teaching, museum studies or other related fields of study;
  • Expertise with children;
  • Excellent oral communication skills;
  • Experience in a day camp or art school;
  • Very good organizational and priority management skills;
  • Ability to work within a team, great adaptability, punctuality, and interpersonal skills;
  • Knowledge of office and design related software such as Canva, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc. (a considerable asset);
  • Experience in an artistic setting (a strong asset).
