During this week, children will discover the world of Katsushika Hokusai. This Japanese artist of the Edo period had an important multidisciplinary career. Children will trace his career through drawing, printmaking, sculpture and painting projects. Hokusai’s most popular works, including The Great Wave of Kanagawa (1831) have become iconic images. He leaves a great legacy for many European artists and influences the Japanese movement. During the cultural meditations, children will explore the art movement ukiyo-e.The week will conclude with a vernissage that will showcase the works created during the workshops.
